Tour through Oxford

01 Maart 2014 | Verenigd Koninkrijk, Oxford
Today I woke up feeling slightly better, but I skipped breakfast because I was still feeling a bit sick. After a shower, we decided to go to town because the weather was stunning. It was a sunny, mild day with clear blue skies, so Peter took the convertible to drive Barbara, Oscar and me to the centre of Oxford.
We walked the last bit until we reached the main street. It was full of people and the most amazing shops, I'm certainly retiring there later this week to expand my spring wardrobe!
After this, we went to the covered market, were we looked at all the shops and had lunch, my first real meal in days. I really wanted to see the historical buildings in Oxford, so we took a walk past some universities and also visited worlds oldest existing library. There, we saw an amazing exhibition on major medical discoveries, with beautifully illustrated books from the middle ages, and even a letter from doctor Livingstone about the effects of malaria!
After the exhibition, we went to the national historical museum. There was so much to see there, from fossils and dinosaur skeletons to shrunken heads and jewellery mede up out of dead birds just hanging on a piece of string. It was magnificent.
After this, it was time to go home again, where ate supper and watched a movie, after which I went to bed.
Love, Kyara
